28 Jan Schardein’s Goes to LBP Front Row, Miami
Luxury Brands Partners hosted an event this past week that 10 of our ambitious team members got a chance to attend. Because of the partnership that Schardein’s has with these products and the education LBP provides for us here at the salon it allows us to perform the top techniques and trends for all of you in our services.
Our trip started off with a few struggles, but after a delay in our first flight that led us to missing our connecting flight it allowed our team to do some bonding in a busy airport for 4+ hours.
Once we arrived in Miami, we got settled in and enjoyed the first night in South Beach Miami. The next day was easy going with shopping and sightseeing as well as the Plastic Beach Pool Party that LBP hosted to kick things off, as well as an opening party that night at the Story in Miami.
Sunday, a few of our staff got to check out the beach, just a stone’s throw away from our hotel. The Hair Carnival began that afternoon with booths of all the LBP lines’ merchandise and newest products coming out this year from Oribe, R+Co, V76 and Smith and Cult. The Main Stage for the first night featured Oribe and all their talented representatives such as Kien Hoang and Coby Alcantar from the US, Vivienne Mackinder from the UK, Nicci Welsh from Denmark and more for a worldwide Oribe experience.
After Oribe’s start of the event, Goldwell made an appearance to showcase some of their amazing work as they recreated looks of iconic blondes like Marilyn Monroe and Twiggy, then followed by more recent celebrities like J. Lo and Lady Gaga to show how versatile the Goldwell color line is with all the different products they supply that we use right here in Schardein’s.
Monday morning kicked off with Keynote speaker Jim Collins that spoke to us about the importance of laying down your goals that can actually be achieved and finding the steps to achieve them while also keeping a positive and productive attitude along the journey. After the session, Oribe held a hands-on class that our stylist Craig Jackson and Bri Aragon attended and learned techniques from James Pecis on how to create that magazine cover glamor hair with only simple tools.
Monday night featured V76 men’s grooming line with a variety of their team showing us different haircuts and techniques through their live models on the stage to get a glimpse what to expect in the men’s area of grooming this upcoming year. Using educators such as Jesse Taylor and Vaughn himself, they were followed in suit by Smith and Cult. The cunning polish brand that is a combination of classy and sassy all in one. From bold colors to simple finishing touches, their show was fun and upbeat, showcasing the line with a different model dressed to tribute each color, as well as a few of the diary entries that inspired those names that baffle you as you read at the bottom of the little bottles.
Tuesday morning was just as inspiring as the days before with R+Co. The revolutionary hair care line that is taking the industry by storm with it’s editorial focus and a creative freedom goal aligned for the stylist as well as every client. To provide universal products with amazing scents and an endless list of use for each one. Providing that creative freedom for your stylist to use on your hair and for you to take home and use yourself. Front Row’s last session kept pushing the limits through education from the owners of R+Co, Garren, Howard, And Thom. After the morning session, R+Co held a hands-on class that Carsen Archer, Logan Heard, Makynzie Connell and Angel Hanes, myself, attended. We got to choose a hairstyle from a previous magazine cover that Garren had done in the past and try to recreate it. There were educators all around assisting us in accomplishing the hairstyle with basic techniques and how to build off of them.
Tuesday night closed the whole event with a party at the Foxhole down in South Beach for everyone to reminisce and say farewell to the friends that were made over the period of the stay there.
On Wednesday we all packed up and headed home, still bright eyed and bushy tailed with inspiration and excitement of what our Schardein’s team can bring to you and the rest of Oklahoma in the new year
The event was completely fresh and cutting edge for our ever-changing and evolving industry to see what 2016 has to offer.
