Rose Quartz and Serenity

The new year begins with new trends. With Spring right around the corner, the new tones for 2016 are sure to be an icon. Who decides these colors? Pantone Color Institute, a company known for their color intelligence. They discover these color trends by traveling the world to find what will inspire the color(s) for the new year.

Rose Quartz and Serenity

“Pantone continues to chart future color direction and study how color influences human thought processes, emotions and physical reactions. Pantone furthers it’s commitment to providing professionals with a greater understanding of color and to help them utilize color more effectively,” Pantone says on their website.

Warm Rose Quartz and cool Serenity: these colors will be inspiring the latest looks for celebrities, fashion, housing accessories, and more. Pantone raves that the shades are “playful and sophisticated”, bringing “order and peace”. This was the first time in 15 years that two colors have been chosen to represent the same year at the same time because of the beauty of these colors going hand in hand and playing off of each other. They will be flooding the scene with their tones through fashion, accessories, makeup, and hair.

Rose Quartz inspires the feel of compassion and composure. Tina Ford, one of our stylist here IMG_6625at Schardein’s took the lovable pastel pink with a warm undertone and transformed her client’s hair into this beautiful canvas.

The color originates from the Rose Quartz stone. A pastel pink mineral found in the earth, it is a rock-crystal, which is where it gets it’s transparentness. Making this color very subtle but also perfect for spring. It is described as “persuasive yet gentle”. The warm hue beckons attention.

IMG_6626Serenity is a lilac blue shade, inspiring the feelings of relaxation and weightlessness, according to Pantone. Because of the versatileness in the shade, it can pull more blue or lilac depending on how you wear it. For those who aren’t always a fan of wearing a pink shade, this gives them a second option to wear that will also keep them in trend and confident at the same time.

“Joined together, Serenity and Rose Quartz demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace,” says Leatrice Eiseman, the executive director of the Pantone Color Institute.

Try using these colors also through your makeup, just a touch in your eyeshadow or eyeliner, or a even lipstick, utilize the pinky Rose Quartz as a blush tone for your cheeks. Both colors will also be seen used by nail polish brands, so you can wear them on your nails, whether separate or together. Add splashes of the colors in your wardrobe with a new Rose Quartz tank for the Spring with matching Serenity jeans or maybe a new scarf or necklace to accessorize. Even S’well has dedicated two new bottles to the collection featuring these shades! The possibilities are endless. We used both of these tones in our stylist Makynzie Connell’s hair here at Schardein’s to show how beautifully they mix together, we also did a little pop of both on her eyes as well to complete the look. Talk to your stylist or book a consultation with us today to discuss how you can incorporate these colors in your hair as well!
